Marie Janin is the co-director of The Overkill festival. As a curator she connects disciplines and brings together people and narratives to challenge perspectives on contemporary questions. Curious how festival visitors could become actors rather than observers, Marie is interested in confronting artworks and games, where interactivity, immersion, participation and playfulness trigger reflection. When curating The Overkill she sees the programming process as a framework of an interdisciplinary research and uses fiction, philosophy, art, experimental games or music to dive into the chosen topic of each festival edition. She believes that popular media are great tools to make debates on social issues more accessible to broader and more diverse audiences.
