Acheface

Acheface is an electronic artist from The Netherlands whose only instrument is a Eurorack modular synthesizer.
His hard and distorted industrial beats have a lot of variation, but remain energetic and danceable. The melancholic melodies are inspired by 80s synthpop and 90s black metal. The overwhelming complexity of the modular synthesizer produces unexpected musical outcomes, which are hard to attribute entirely to the human or the machine alone.

Chip tune

Monodeer

Monodeer is the alter ego of Dutch electronic musician Mark van den Heuvel, who combines his eternal love for 8-bit, beats and basslines into inimitable live sets.

Using two classic Nintendo Gameboys, he energetically expres, challenges, and breaks through the pixelated boundaries of the micromusic scene. Monodeer's own brand of heavy, noisy, lo-fi mastery will get you moving to the sounds of deep chip-bass and melodic hooks. Minimal means. Maximum sound.

Julien van Aalderen aka The C-Men

The C-Men VJs with 2 Amiga computers, a 320×256 resolution in 16 colours and a couple of Red Bulls to send those graphic designer VJs home with burnt retinas.

The C-Men originally started as a duo 15 years ago in 1998 from their hometown Enschede. Having met in art school, Julian van Aalderen and Sjors Trimbach shared a mutual passion for animation on Amiga computers and soon found themselves performing live visuals.

Their first outings were for obscure noise performances and underground electro, techno, drum ‘n’ bass gigs, shortly after teaming up with micromusic to become some of the longest-active visual artists in the chiptune scene. The C-Men have brought their unique brand of  low-res, hardcore,  epileptic and brightly coloured imagery to cities like Moscow, New York, Pusan, Tokyo, Stockholm, London and their hometown of Enschede

./drum.code

Timo Hoogland

./drum.code is a live coding performance for human and computer.

During the performance the computer acts as a co-performer playing itself by making changes in the code while listening and reacting to patterns played on the drums. On the other side the human will react to the sounds made by the computer resulting in a dialogue between the analog and digital worlds of both performers. The code is generated and trained from previous programmed live coding performances and decisions are made via machine learning techniques trained on rhythmical patterns and tuned probabilities.

live Friday 3-12 ( Online Link)
(Timo Hoogland is also giving a live coding workshop on Saturday 4-12, don't forget to

Data Duo

Dato DUO is an instrument for making electronic music together.

You don't have to be an experienced musician to use it. On one side is the synthesizer. Generate and sculpt gritty, bold or soft sounds. You play with filters and add effects such as a  bitcrusher and  accent. And add  beats! On the other side is the  Sequencer. Loop eight notes on the sequencer side. Compose a melody using the keyboard — flashy lights indicate which tone is playing. You can  randomize the sequence,  speed up and pitch up and down.

Lamb Kebab

Berlin-based Cuban-American artist Rachel de la Torre (aka Lamb Kebab) best known for their visceral vocal performances is a newcomer to generative music. Their productions employ chaotic breakbeat patterns, elements of Bass, and noise, drawing inspiration from Giallo horror soundtracks and Dolly Parton through a playful arrangement of sample-based pattern making. Although relatively newcomer to producing Lamb has cut out a niche for herself through collaborations with XVII, Imaabs, Reelle, Leo Luccinni, and AC with corresponding releases.
